Weekend highlights

• Going to the Bizarre Bazaar after Shabbat, despite the crowds. Local people make some fun things, and I got ideas for things to try at home.
  
• Unanticipated backrubs. Always a good thing.
  
• Holiday shopping braving a mall and finding that the timing was just right or something, since there weren't crowds. And there were some serendipitous finds.
  
• Rewatching LotR on DVD. Yes, the small screen (well, not very small), but amply made up for by being able to have hot and sour soup and making comments at the screen whenever.
  
• Seeing the Urban Nutcracker in Dorchester, despite the weather. It's a riff off the more traditional version, keeping the main plot, but adding in a lot of more contemporary dancing, which was quite impressive. It's a community group, so there were some of the little kids whose cuteness makes up for their not (yet?) developed talent, but there were some impressive performances as well. It's the first time I've seen those big spherical things with handles that kids can bounce around on (anyone know what these are called?) used in a ballet :-).
  
• The weather not wreaking havoc with already-made plans, despite cycling through snow, ice, and rain.
  
• The time to catch up with people I haven't seen much of lately.
