Farm share (week 13)

In the box this week:

• two green peppers
  
• an eggplant
  
• ten tomatillos
  
• five little, narrow hot peppers (one already red, the rest green)
  
• two large onions
  
• a small head of red cabbage
  
• seven medium carrots (a pound? perhaps)
  
• massive quantities of all kinds of heirloom tomatoes, red, yellow, and orange (five pounds, perhaps?), plus some plum tomatoes offered on the side
  
• a big bunch of basil
  
• two smallish heads of romaine lettuce
  
• a biggish bunch of mixed salad greens

No melon :-(. I had plans for them...

Thanks, but I've got my experimental batch of watermelon pickle on the stove even as I type. I hope my drawing the process out won't have hurt them immeasureably (though since I've never had this kind of pickle before, I won't really know).

I was hoping for a cantaloupe to try cran-cantaloupe jam with. I might end up at a farmers' market or farm stand this week, just to get melon and perhaps some peaches.
