Last night I went to a play at the Boston Playwrights' Theatre (review on that still to come). Waiting for the doors to open, I found a posting about a series of staged readings of new plays, all of which have passed, except for one: Moses...Live!, by Jonathan Mirin. I'm thinking of going Monday (they're also reading it Tuesday). It's 7:30 p.m at the theatre (949 Comm Ave, Boston). Donations at the door. Info: (617)358-PLAY. Does anyone want to join me?
Also, they're having a festival of new plays, May 29-June 1. With Shabbat starting late, I'm only able to make the Thursday May 29 (7:30 pm) and Sunday June 1 (noon) plays. Is anyone else interested in these? ( more info, though not a lot more).
Bill Bryson is going to be speaking Saturday morning, 10 am, at Brookline Booksmith (tix are $2). I won't be there (Shabbat), but he's an excellent writer, and from his books I'd think he'd be a good speaker, too.
