Happy Earth Day
Apr. 22nd, 2003 08:18 amApparently it is Earth Day (the advantages of starting one's browser at Google is that I find these things out- check out their logo today). Here it's raining, and the forecast has it raining through Thursday; I guess this means I'll have to appreciate mud for Earth Day. (and flowering trees, too :-)
From this morning's news: though technically acceptable, "pilgrimaged" just sounds wrong.
I stopped at the Butcherie this morning to get more chicken for the last days of Pesach (I don't use my freezer on Pesach, and the contents are currently owned by another). I was hoping there would be some eggplant spreads left, though not really expecting there would be any. Unfortunately, my expectations were met. There were lots of empty shelves, too, and far too much space in the refrigerated case for chicken; I was surprised that they had so little available, actually.
Note to the woman using the exit off Route 128: when you are taking the exit and merging into the traffic on another road, *you* do not have the right of way. It might behoove you to see whether there's traffic coming before blithely driving on.
This year's farm share starts June 10 :-).

Date: 2003-04-22 08:02 am (UTC)(Though perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, since Bread and Circus had dairy chocolate brownies billed as kosher for Passover, though the certification was their regular kosher-for-the-rest-of-the-year one. It was before Passover when they had samples out, and they were very yummy. I thought about the dairy-ness being a hindrance to selling them to people for seders, but realized that people who care about the use of matza meal instead of flour in their sinfully rich chocolate-cream-butter dessert experience don't always care if those brownies are following a meat meal or not (though they could be having a dairy seder, too), nor what, exactly, the certification is, as long as the ingredients are ok.)
I still have a stash of chocolate for the last days of Pesach, so I'm set for now :-).
