Pantry cooking, Friday afternoon
Feb. 7th, 2003 04:27 pm(Yet another food entry :-)
Other than buying some rolls and a turkey thigh, the rest of the cooking this afternoon is based on what was already in the house. I think I'm almost completely out of veggies, now.
I roasted a turkey thigh over bread crumbs, onion, bits of mango, bits of crystallized ginger, cut-up somewhat dried-out dried peach, some cranberries, and cubed sweet potato, seasoned with key lime-ginger marinade, extra powdered ginger, a sprinkling of brown sugar, and some extra key lime juice. I hope it comes out well, since this is not exactly a combination I've tried before.
I sauteed onions with carrots, shredded bok choy, and slice orange, red, and yellow baby bell peppers. Soy sauce, soon.
And, not for Shabbat, I'm using the first bit of the surprise from Bitty (back at the brunch); inspired by comments here and Richard Feynman, Earl Grey tea with cream flavored chocolate...
