Sociability despite headache

magidWell, mostly sociable. I went to the Diesel last night, and found myself much less able to handle conversation when what I wanted to be doing was watching the backgammon games being played (comparing what I would've done with what the players did). I've had a headache since Monday, when it was a little thing that could easily be ignored. By yesterday afternoon, it had grown, to a pain over my right eye, unlike the usual headaches I've gotten in the past. I hope I wasn't too rude to anyone.
I went to a game night, and the low-key atmosphere was wonderful. It didn't matter that I now suck rocks at playing regular Carcassonne, since it wasn't a cutthroat sort of game. And, hey, I got to hear the quote of the day, which had something to do with putting octopus down someone's pants...
I didn't stay after that first game; I still hadn't had dinner. So, a late dinner, and off to bed.
Except that I woke up, head pounding, feeling vaguely feverish, a couple of hours later. Well, it's warmer out, maybe I should ditch the second blanket. OK. Cooler now. Back to sleep... until waking up the second time, again feeling vaguely feverish. Double-ugh. Finally got back to sleep, until I woke up a third time (no wonder I couldn't remember this morning's dream fragment!). This time I finally roused myself to find the Aleve-substitute, still in with the unpacked Arisia stuff (yeah, yeah), line up the two little triangles in the dark, pour myself water, consume. Finally back to sleep, after wondering how long I would just lie there, unable to face turning on a light when it was still dark out. Not my favorite night's sleep.
I've not had a headache that's so localized (my eye hurts a bit if I move it to the edges of my vision, or if I move my head to the edges of its motion) before, and only once had one that lasted three days (When it finally went away, I had light tinnitus in one ear :-(. ). No clue what a doctor would be able to do, other than suggest some of the OTC drugs I've already tried. At least this morning it's not as egregious... I hope it goes away soon.
