I took today off; too much to do at home, and totally needed a day away from work. It was a good decision.

I haven't been totally productive, but comfortably so. Today I:
got some medical stuff done,
called the bank that wrote the loan on my car (necessary to get a copy of the title)(should get a letter in 5 days... and the RMV will take another 15 after that. Feh.),
got groceries (3 stores)(finding a new kind of herbed kosher goat cheese at TJ's. Score!),
brought in herbs off my porch (to go to the office tomorrow),
roasted a couple of pans of veggies (potatoes, potatoes and carrots),
made a chocolate cake,
made an apple crisp,
boiled artichokes,
made a pot of barley.

Still to do: make the barley into salad, pay the mortgage, get the folding table and chairs, make a cranberry dish (sauce or something spicier? haven't decided), straighten the apt, frost the cake.

Tomorrow: make challah and pea soup, tovel dishes, get witness info, make green salad, make eggplant-onion stuff (maybe some of that will be tonight).

Sheva brachot tomorrow night, and I still only have 8 confirmed AJMs (adult Jewish males). Invitations are out to two others. Hope it works... may have to ask someone to grab a guy at shul, or ask someone else to come by for dessert... Why did I have to smash the car two days before making dinner for somewhere around 20 people?

Burn update: I'd managed not to pop the impressive blister, and it had been getting smaller each day (about time, after over 2 weeks!). This morning there was more marked change, most of the liquid gone (where?). I don't have to avoid using that finger so much (yes, it's the middle finger...). Still not quite right touch sensation yet, though. And the other one is healing well, too. Thank goodness neither got infected.
