Annoyances

magidI called the blood donor center two days ago, asking whether I could give during my recuperation from the evil rash. Sure, as long as it's healed over. So I go in this morning, and am rejected, because my legs are still too red (not brown), and have a couple of scabs left. For anyone who saw my legs a few weeks ago, this is a light-year improvement over what was (I haven't taken drugs for it in days, either. Hooray.). I wish I'd been able to donate (especially because the last time there was a drive, they rejected me for having the scabs from where the pins came out of my hand. Sigh.)
The Pike people are saying they'll have to raise the toll for people with transponders, since the *50%* discount is costing them more than they'd thought (ie they're not getting enough money for the Big Dig. I've already ranted about my Cabridge-Needham commute paying for it while people who use that highway don't.). I just love how they emphasize that 50% discount. It's a 50% discount.... of a 100% increase in the tolls. Somehow they never manage to mention that little bit of information with the other...
And while I'm getting all the annoyed stuff out, why can't I get blinds at work that block the sun? Why can't the building be a decent temperature? Why can't the planning people at work plan stuff enough in advance so that I don't have to hold up reprints for redesign? Why did I end up in charge of all of the reprints for the entire high school line, not just the books, but all the ancillaries, too (I so deserve a promotion for the work they're having me do. Promotion time is the spring, right after annual reviews. Wonder if I'll make it that long.)
And why can't I manage to work more exercise into my schedule? Why do I get addicted to certain games?
