The librarian at work has decided that older books in the collection will be denuded of their dust jackets. She was going to throw them away, until I said I'd take them; I'm not sure why I did.

This morning I got 3 dust jackets. One has a cool fish-eye photo of a room at the White House, and another has what looks like a Persian/Arabic picture-with-manuscript (the third is boring). I'm not sure what I thought I would do with them. I suppose I can put them in paper recycling, if nothing else.

*giggle* I don't feel like nearly the packrat/recycler/reuser I did before reading this. This is like the story of the lady who kept a box labeled (and filled with) "string too short to be saved."

Have you heard the Monty Python skit about the man who goes to an ad agency to help him sell [many thousands of miles of] string, in 2-inch lengths?

Of course, my defense is that I'll at least put it in the recycling, rather than the trash....
