Minus: Today is a fast day, so not only am I hungry and thirsty, I have a higher potential for crankiness, too.
Plus: Maybe I'll end up an ounce or two lighter?

Minus: I was so tired last night I went to bed before ma'ariv, missing the reading of Eichah (Lamentations) that I find so haunting and moving.
Plus: I got a bit more sleep, when my body wanted it, too.

Minus: Cute Houseguest not only (accidentally) woke me up a couple of times last night, he's also gone through about half the grape juice I have in the house. Grrr.
Plus: Supposedly I will be reimbursed for his staying with me.

Plus: Making major starches plus veggies for dinner last night.
Minus: Not having time to even try one of the flatbreads.
Plus: I got to feed my friends instead.

Plus: The drycleaner finally found the dress I'd left for them over a month ago.

Minus: Something inside, to the right of my spine, is still hurting from the bike ride a couple of days ago. It hurts when I change positions sometimes. This is nothing like any other injury I've managed to give myself... perhaps it's a weird muscle pull?

Minus: Having four sucky rounds of Boggle at lunch(time).
Plus: Having a great last round (the best words I found include: elation, relation, hustler, and lustier).

So that leaves it somewhat plussful. Somehow it still feels a bit in the minuses, unless I distract myself from it...

I'm going without food but not without drink today.

Oh, there's a grape juice they have over at the Butcherie you might like - bottled, unrefrigerated, but not from concentrate.

(You know you've been working too long when first you type "graph"....)

This is the last of the big bottles of grape juice gotten at Costco. If they carried them regularly, I'd be less annoyed about running low.

I suppose kosher grape juice isn't so expensive, but I find myself tending to hoard it, which is not something I do with any other fruit juices I get (Actually, I have found myself getting other fruit juices just to be able to offer guests options, but not for drinking them myself.). I didn't use to be this way... Perhaps I should give up on other fruit juice and just buy grape, by the case, perhaps. Then maybe I wouldn't tend feel I was running out...

Heh - you'd be like Dad with the LC.

Seriously, there's good shtuff there - $2.49 for the not-from-concentrate stuff, very tasty. Beats the big Costco bottles to heck tastewise.

Not *quite* as bad as Dad about LC... I already keep over a case of wine around, and use that a lot less frequently, not to mention egregious quantities of paper goods (have you ever looked behind my sofa?). (I'd forgotten about LC. Hard to believe.)

Perhaps my sense of taste is underdeveloped, or since I like grape juice chilled, the differences in taste are less noticeable. I do prefer regular grape juice over white (which is ok, but just doesn't taste enough like grape juice, really).

Dad'll never forget LC - especially after it corroded through containers holding it in the basement and wrecked the mint status for a bunch of mint coin sets Zayde had hoarded.

I hadn't realized that!

I could've sworn that the coins were under the front hall, and the LC was over near the back hall (not far from the Filing Cabinet of Pasta (ok, we *do* have a weird dad)). I'd thought it was the couple o' floods in the basement that did them in...

Speaking of LC...

... guess what I found under my bathroom sink when I just now decided to clear it out...?
