Public art
Jul. 9th, 2002 11:57 amLast night I went to the playground just off Inman Street, near Inman Square. There's a really cool prism of a climbing structure, which I've seen before. There were two new things I noticed, however.
The mural on one wall is brightly colored and irregularly shaped. It seems to include kids' drawings with more professional-looking ones. There are random scatterings of letters and numbers, also a dolphin off the right side of the mural, and a beautiful flying elephant, a keyhole shape showing two hands holding each other, an interesting dragon. Lots of swirly colors, and I'm sure there are details I missed.
There's also a circular area that has a sprinkler in the middle, I think. There are shapes painted onto the circle showing the range of the water, a toothbrush and tooth, a letter or two, some high-heeled shoes, some numbers, etc. Not really noticeable unless you choose to look...
