[local eating] Deep winter share, 5 of 6
Mar. 9th, 2012 03:50 pm- a bunch of parsley (I chose flat leaf)
- a purple kohlrabi
- two celeriac
- one medium-large and two small red onions
- a head of lettuce (I chose a pretty green Boston one)
- a bag of braising greens (not sure exactly what, since they were pre-bagged)
- a bag of frozen peach halves (five of them)
- a one-pound jar of Warm Colors Apiary raw honey (there were three kinds: raspberry blossom (I chose this one; it was darkest), basswood, and summer wild flower) (of note to mead makers: they seem to have good prices for larger quantities of honey)
- a thirty-two ounce container of Side Hill Farm yogurt (fat free plain, fat free vanilla, or regular maple; I chose the latter) (of possible interest to western MA folks: they sell their own raw milk at the farm)
- a cup of sprouting beans (without actual sprouts on them)
- two and a half pounds of Adirondack potatoes (choosing a mix of red- and blue-skinned ones)
