Ultimate veggies (week 20)
Oct. 26th, 2005 08:32 pmThe last of the farm share for this year.... I wish they were offering a winter share here as well as in western MA. At least there was time for a nice chat with the guy who oversees the distribution, including hearing about his architecture classes this semester.

I had the thought to make preserved etrog, since the peel is the officially useful part in making preserved lemon, and etrogim have lots of that. If anyone reading this has a spare etrog, I'm happy to take it off your hands...
- two heads of garlic
- a pie pumpkin
- two kohlrabis (small ones with greens, either purple or green)
- six green peppers
- a stalk of Brussels sprouts
- a small head of green leaf lettuce
- 7.5 pounds of mixed winter vegetables, including red onions (up to two), red-skinned potatoes, yellow fingerling potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, delicata squash, other winter squash, daikon, white radishes (with red insides!), black radishes, parsnips (little ones) and a variety of turnips
