Shabbat menu
Jul. 9th, 2004 06:48 pm- challah (partly whole wheat, partly white, partly rye, with some flax seed meal for good measure)
- baby artichokes (so tiny they don't have chokes)
- roasted cauliflower (there was going to be roasted eggplant, but, well, it got et)
- barley and black bean salad, with tomatoes and scallions, plus black pepper and a bit of hot sauce (it would have peppers if all the guests could eat them, and olives if I had any; I wish I'd remembered to get some)
- roasted beets
- green salad (green leaf, red Boston, arugula, basil, scallion, tomato) with poached chicken breast (I'm not sure what dressing yet, but I'm leaning towards yet another vinaigrette, possibly with mustard)
- fruit crumble (plums, nectarines, apricots, and sour cherries)
Other end-of-meal options include cantaloupe, honeydew, and fresh gooseberries!
