Jun. 29th, 2004 01:15 pmThree groups (the National Lawyers Guild, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee and the American Friends Service Committee) are planning a lawsuit against the T's new random searches. Huzzah!
(If there were screens of all bags, like at airports, it would be more annoying for time, but would bother me less on the legal side. Not that they have the peoplepower to do that.)
David Lee Roth will be performing with the Pops on the Fourth, at the Esplanade. (Not Aerosmith, who apparently were a possibility as well.)
The MA Cultural Council budget is increasing by $1 million. It's apparently going to target "programs employing arts and culture to encourage tourism, enhance education, and foster community revitalization." Still, it doesn't bring funding up to what it used to be, before the budget lost $12 million in 2002.
