Apparently it is Earth Day (the advantages of starting one's browser at Google is that I find these things out- check out their logo today). Here it's raining, and the forecast has it raining through Thursday; I guess this means I'll have to appreciate mud for Earth Day. (and flowering trees, too :-)

From this morning's news: though technically acceptable, "pilgrimaged" just sounds wrong.

I stopped at the Butcherie this morning to get more chicken for the last days of Pesach (I don't use my freezer on Pesach, and the contents are currently owned by another). I was hoping there would be some eggplant spreads left, though not really expecting there would be any. Unfortunately, my expectations were met. There were lots of empty shelves, too, and far too much space in the refrigerated case for chicken; I was surprised that they had so little available, actually.

Note to the woman using the exit off Route 128: when you are taking the exit and merging into the traffic on another road, *you* do not have the right of way. It might behoove you to see whether there's traffic coming before blithely driving on.

This year's farm share starts June 10 :-).

Specially padded, antiseptic band-aids designed for blisters. No more general band-aids for cuts, heaven forfend. Is it a sign that our society is/will/has jump(ing)(ed) the shark?

Web site of interest: Grace Cathedral's labyrinth locator. Most of the places listed in Massachusetts are in churches or are private, but the one in the park on Vinal St. in Somerville is listed, too. I hope it will be open for Somerville Open Studios again.
Corn mazes don't make the cut, apparently (or no one has thought to list them, perhaps).
