Things I want to do this summer
May. 27th, 2002 08:17 pmDaytrips
Go to the Harbor Islands (I say this every year, and never manage to. Perhaps typing it here will help me get off my butt.).
Climb Mt. Monadnock (I've missed a couple of years, so I am determined to go this year.).
Revisit the Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, MA.
Do something fun on the Cape, maybe even making it to P'town.
Go to see RiverFire in Providence, since I let the prospect of rain keep me away last night :-(.
Go to the philately museum in Weston, then go to Land's Sakes, the organic farm, and pick raspberries and sungold cherry tomatoes.
Go to Springfield (MA) to see the new Seuss sculpture park opening this weekend.
Other suggestions, anyone? Having lived in MA for most of my life, there are of course tons of things I've never managed to do/see right around here, or in relatively close bits of New England.
Events I'm thinking of having (someday, anyway....)
How to Host a Murder (Thanks, Cthulhia!)(must think about an appropriate menu to match the setting....)
An afternoon/evening of story reading (kids' books galore; bad puns encouraged.)
A non-Shabbat game night
A sort of kids' games in the park sort of thing, somewhere with a playground (swings, slides, things to climb on, see-saws if any still exist, etc), and room to play tag, in whatever permutations people prefer, and red rover, and hopscotch, and jump rope (for them's that's coordinated; not me), etc. Maybe some frisbees and/or kites, too. With lots of lemonade, and cookies, available. (Ooh, I wonder if there's a park that gets a visit from an ice cream truck?)
A thanks-for-the-help party-ish thing for all the people who helped me while one-handed
A brunch (a friend and I made at least 4 kinds of bagels for the l ast one.... mmmm.....
