I walked down to Figment Shabbat afternoon, arriving as many installations were being packed up for the day. Still, I got to see a very cool lit paisley shape that changed colors over time, a tree with leaves of wishes, a whole bunch of drums for people to play, and some big blue foam blocks (I saw two little girls use a cylinder and rectangular prism to make a tiny teeter-totter; so cute!). I got to chat with a bunch of people, and arriving later in the day meant I didn't get tired/thirsty/hungry as quickly.
Unfortunately, there was enough rain that the event was called on Sunday, so I did a bit of my leave-no-trace shift, but no info desk for me. Ah, well.

Monday there was a lot of rain, which in Somerville caused flash flooding. I had to wade through knee-deep water to get to Artisan's Asylum; I was really glad I'd worn sandals without socks!

Tuesday included a walk out to the Belmont community garden for some weeding and watering. In following the theme of the previous days, I managed to break a hose such that it sprayed all over me. At least that happened after everything was done.

I harvested the garlic from my porch, nine heads in all. Thanks again to Omly for the garlic cloves this winter. And I harvested another big bag of purslane from the garden; holler if you'd like some.

Recent canning: a pint each of red beet pickles, golden beet pickles, and fennel pickles, plus a larger batch of apricot-vanilla jam.
