magidCorning has developed super-thin sheets of glass that bend. It makes me want to learn more technical skills of some sort to be able to play with this.
I would make a horrible '50s housewife. It just seems so fantastical that some of those things matter. Some, sure, I can understand not wanting a gossipy spouse, but caring about straight seams on stockings? On a daily basis? It's a whole other universe I'm glad not to be part of. Not that I've managed to snag a mate, so perhaps I should be paying attention after all...?

Have I just missed them this year? I've seen/heard lots of plows, but no sanders spraying whatever mixture of salt/ sand/ ice melt. The roads are reasonably clear, and the snow isn't as grimy as it gets from being driven on a lot. Was that better plowing due to the snow emergency? I don't have any answers.
