The money meme
Feb. 17th, 2013 08:29 pmMonies assumed to be after taxes, fees, etc.
$10: put towards the week's groceries
$100: new sneakers to replace ones that are more than five years old
$1K: a new-to-me laptop before the eight year old desktop finally fails
$10K: laptop, also my share of the roof the condo association needs to replace, a few small house projects
$100K: laptop, roof, pay off the mortgage, replace the single-glazed windows, redo the porch with a green wall and more planters in general as well as a solar-powered watering system, replace the twenty-five year old 'new' mattress, small house projects, the rest (if there's any more) into savings/retirement
$1M: all of the $100K stuff, probably more house things when estimates run over, some travel (both to visit friends and to explore new places), investing in small businesses and local art, more to savings/retirement
