magidI'm still frustrated with myself at how LJ-dependent I am for keeping up with people (insert FB snippet v. LJ post comparison here; I don't have nearly so many people friended on DW (same username as LJ; ping me if you want), and G+ is still starting up, getting its sea legs (plus all the political issues of names and privacy and such)). (I bought extra parentheses this week; can you tell? :-)
I have a short-term task that includes typing in Hebrew. I have no idea what the standard Hebrew keyboard is like, but the keys are not what I'd expect for most of the letters (bet is c, aleph is t, taf is ;, to list just a few. I don't think I'm going to get fast, but I am slowly getting to the point of remembering some of them, and I'm finding myself looking at the words I'm typing in and telling myself which English letter to type. It's an odd feeling, given how long ago I learned to touch-type (a year-long class in high school just for typewriting; since I was stuck on a manual first semester, I got to use an electric second semester. Amazingly, my typing speed increased noticeably second semester!).
New words of the week: autonym and gynandromorph
Oddly mesmerizing music video of the week: Ponponpon (with thanks to Scholargipsy for translating the lyrics for me)
I've started three new batches of booze: sweet onion, raw red beet, and special tomato basil. It'll be interesting to compare the raw beet liqueur to the roasted beet liqueur from last fall. And I'm hoping that the onion works (the by-product boozy onions will likely be turned into some kind of onion jam); it was a sudden inspiration, of the kind that is usually either really good, or horribly not.

This week I played around with putting words on top of an image. I know this is wicked basic image manipulation, bit it was a first for me. Also, I started using Spotify, though I haven't devoted much time to finding tons of music yet (perhaps after the 3 Weeks would be better, anyway).
