[local eating] Farm share, week 16

• a pound of peppers (I chose long red ones)
  
• four mini peppers (I chose yellow ones for contrast)
  
• two eggplants (I chose globe violet ones)
  
• a bunch of kale or collards (I got lacinato kale)
  
• a head of lettuce (I got red-leafed oak)
  
• a bunch of herbs (I chose oregano over cilantro or dill)
  
• a carnival winter squash
  
• a head of radicchio (green and purple)
  
• a tiny head of green cabbage (about the size of a baseball)
  
• a stalk of broccoli

Lighter than I'd usually expect for this time of year, but it's been a very challenging weather year, and I know some CSAs have stopped deliveries entirely.

Parker farm is sort of continuing, only his schema is so complicated I'd almost rather he just not bother. I feel really bad about the people who aren't on facebook, and/or don't have cars because they're getting screwed pretty hard.

YMMV. Even if last week had been the final pickup of the season, I wouldn't consider myself screwed by him. That it turns out it wasn't the last is very nice.

I don't understand the car comment, though.

for small shares, it looks like we need to sign up either saturday at union or monday at central; I'm not sure how he's handling the actual distributions for smalls. Getting to union by bus is doable, but less than fast on a saturday and 6 pm can be hard for some people to get to central.

I hope things work out for him.

It sounds more complicated than it is because he's that kind of writer. There were a few more comments after that person reposted in LJ, so you might want to take a look yourself, as he posted his phone number in case people can't come to one of the markets. Pickups will be at the usual places, sounds like. (If you're not on FB, let me know and I'll email it to you, but I don't want to repost his number in public.)
