Almost-week in review
Jan. 12th, 2009 06:56 pmLast week, Saturday night to Thursday evening
+ post-NYE revel in an artists building, with time to talk to new people as well as those I already knew
+ Chinese food with the family
– lack of replies to time-sensitive email
– stress about aspects of a trip I have little control over
– stress about a parentally-organized shidduch handled in ways I'd not choose
– undersleptness making all the stress larger
+ checking out the refurbished War Memorial facilities (I might drop in and use the weight room of a Sunday afternoon sometimes)
~ 10 Tevet
– gaming canceled
+ living room starting to be reconfigured
+ home-canned goods of summers past excavated and evaluated (it feels too strange to give friends cans of stuff I put up in 2001 or 2002, but at decent amount of it seems acceptable for home use)
– continued undersleptness
+ seeing WALL-E
+/– staying up far too late engrossed in a novel
+ mini daffodil blooming overnight in my cube (note to self: red flowers will contrast the sage-colored walls better. also, possibly worth trying to grow salad leaves later on)
– inability to listen to news about Israel while the Gaza action is continuing; it bothers me that there is so much concern over Gazan civilians who do at least get warned by Israelis, compared to the 7+ years of shelling Sderot has endured that barely gets a single sentence
+ that luminous blue just before dark
+ office now recycling metal and plastic as well as all kinds of paper
– $Vendor for contract work suddenly out of business (perhaps I should have submitted invoices earlier... major oops)
– temporary lack of water in office building
+ ... leading to exploring the building next door
– lack of water was due to turning the water off after the basement flooded, and the resulting mess means no gym in the basement of the office for the foreseeable future
