Snow!

First snow of the year around here.

It's a quiet Sunday morning, and the snow makes me want to make soup, and bake sweets.

It's not really even sticking yet; not at all an impediment to traffic. Things feel quieter somehow, anyway.

It was actually nice walking the dog in it this morning. Not too cold, and only a little slippery in the few spots where the snow was sticking to the sidewalk. My sneakers are old enough to have pretty bad traction, though, and it wasn't anywhere near bad enough to actually pull out my winter boots yet.

It snowed very briefly and lightly last Sunday, but I wouldn't have noticed except I was OUTSIDE when it happened :( and it was obvious that the stuff falling was harder than rain.

I'm hoping it stays melted until the end of the week, because it would be really great if the city actually sends the street sweeper by again to get rid of all the leaves in the gutter; I think they did the opposite side of the street last week.
