[Burning Man] a few photos
Sep. 26th, 2007 03:40 pmThis is that glowing Buddha statue. I should've figured out sooner how to turn the flash off...

I have no idea what these were called, but seeing gorgeous wooden curves in the midst of flat treeless dust was really amazing. Plus the ubiquitous porta-potties, of course.

This is the middle of the temple, fairly early in the week, before there was as much written on it.

And this is a view up into the tower of the temple.

There was another interesting structure nearby; I don't know what it was called. (Anyone? There are a couple more photos of different details of this one in the gallery, if that helps.)

There were clouds rolling in one morning, and seeing their shadows on the surrounding cliffs was gorgeous.

Talk about your flaming art cars... Again, a photo that would be very different had the flash been turned off. It does show how much dust was floating in the air usually.

The start of the Burn, fireworks exploding over him. Also a very fishy art car...

There are other in the gallery, if you want to see more, or larger. Not tons more, because I didn't remember to take that many pictures (and some accidentally turned out to be video instead of photos. D'oh!), but some.
