The farm share includes some pick-your-own at the farm, and today I went to pick the loot:
10 quarts of strawberries (a couple of different early and mid-season kinds, but I don't remember which), and six pints of peas (two pints each of shell peas, snow peas, and snap peas). Hit me with your favorite strawberry recipes! (This totally makes up for seeing the little boxes of strawberries and peas those who got a fruit share were picking up Wednesday.)

Going out there meant also seeing barn swallows and at least half a dozen turkeys, buying local milk and honey, and sharing time with two curly-haired friends :-).

Yes, your comma is in the right place, but that didn't stop me from seeing "at least half a dozen turkeys buying local milk and honey".

Not sure yet. Some may get cooked into the rhubarb mush I made earlier this week. Maybe some kind of strawberry jam with some cranberries for pectin. Maybe some with angel food cake/biscuits/something. Some will likely be frozen for later use (once I hull them, which may take a while...). And some will just be eaten out of hand. If I buy some vodka, I could infuse it.

Any suggestions?

bring tasty strawberry treats to gaming? :-)

You could do a chocolate fondue some night, that could be neat.

Im a big fan of strawberry rhubarb pies.

[livejournal.com profile] library_sexy has a great strawberry spinach salad recipe.

im sure you will think of something

By "strawberry treats," do you mean something more than "strawberries"? 'Cause these are pretty nice as is :-).

I'm too lazy to (a) make fondue, and (b) organize people coming over this week.

Strawberry rhubarb something is definitely a possibility. Not sure whether it will be pie...

Weirdly, though I love putting fruit in salad, I don't think of strawberries that way. OK, plus, the spinach from my share is old enough that it really should be cooked.

Really? Just strawberries in egg? My brain is having a hard time with it.

There were barn swallows. And I ate a lamb's quarter leaf (but forgot to get any to bring home). The barn looks bare without garlic hanging all around.
