The basswood is flowering.

This morning I saw the turkey, looking fat and happy. I had to stop to admire his magnificence as he displayed his tail feathers, and be amazed yet again at the blueness of the skin around his eyes.

A woman living in a Beacon Street townhouse overlooking the Public Garden watering the flowers on her first floor windowsill, which were growing in a row of sneakers.

Yesterday there were people out in Copley advertising the Globe advertisement section (ah, the irony), including a number of gleaming white quadricycles with big pictures of their different icons on the back. One of the riders was there, resting and reading his paper... which was a Wall Street Journal.

And this morning I saw a nun in full habit (long white coif, long flowing white dress, with a black scapular over it), dark sunglasses, a shiny black beaded rosary held in one hand as she rollerbladed along.

Reminds me to tell you about the things I saw yesterday (because seeing nifty things makes me think of you):

On Prospect St: black SUV with ME license plate I DANCE2

On Willow near Highland: motorized three-wheeled vehicle with a sort of wide carriage seat, covered in black leather, across the back wheels, with the back of the seat sculpted in multiple scallops and points. The engine was in back and wholly uncovered; I was surprised to see the drive belt merrily whirring around in the open.

Ooh, neat stuff!

I also saw a conference trike at Copley, well outside the usual stomping grounds over by Quincy Market.

And the best license plate yesterday was NH plate OBIWAN :-)
