All with the pareve, this week. Not that I planned it that way.
  • wine, pita
  • hummus (probably on pre-sliced six grain and pumpkin seed bread (not whole, so not usable for motzi), likely with sliced tomatoes)
  • olives
  • chowder with potatoes, corn, leeks, and possibly fish (read: not yet made, so not sure whether fish will happen or not)
  • artichokes
  • dilly cucumber salad
  • roasted veggies (onion, tomato, zucchini, cauliflower)
  • Greek-style rice pudding with sticky rice, a touch of maple syrup, and roasted peaches with black pepper and brown sugar instead of lemon flavors
  • fresh strawberries, possibly with a splash of balsamic vinegar

In other fridge news, I have to deal with the citrus population, which is totally out of control. Juice, candied, pie, marmalade, salad, salted, whatever.

And speaking of food, my favorite flavor at the Scooper Bowl yesterday was Ben & Jerry's lemon meringue. Which I sort of expected to be called something like "lemon merengue" instead. (And which seems not to be listed on their web site. Hrm.)
(And congratulations to the Good Catch and Hot Babe!)

roasted peaches? Yum. We had rice pud for dessert today, coconutty and lovely. But with a compote of rhubarb and frozen mixed berries - surprisingly good!

The peaches were yummy, but perhaps not quite enough of them given the quantity of rice; it was much less intense than I'd wanted. Perhaps more maple syrup would've bumped it up enough.

Rhubarb! I haven't had rhubarb yet this year. Yummy.
