Date: 2007-04-06 07:04 pm (UTC)2 - I was on a group trip to Ethiopia to teach Jews before they made aliyah, and there were behind-the-scenes politics that lead to us being chucked out of the country before the summer was even half over. (If you want the longer version, let me know/ask me next time we see each other.)
4 - It was an ill-run hike in northern Israel, where the guides had changed the length of hike at the last minute, so people weren't as prepared as they might have been. It was getting late, and we were nowhere near where they'd expected us to finish, so we were told to keep walking while they went on ahead to arrange something with transport. Which we did, faster than expected, since we followed the path into a field we were later told was a mine field.
5 - I was a little kid, jumping up and down on my best friend Heather Congdon's driveway, and somehow my tongue got in the way... Luckily a tooth was out, so it was easy to drink my food for a while.
8 - There's an organization called PMD (People Making a Difference) that arranges one-shot volunteer opportunities. I'd worked at the National Braille Press a couple of times through them, so I was asked if I wanted to help with getting book 6 ready so it could be sent out the same time as the print book. This time I had to sign an NDA, very hush hush. Of course, it's not like I could read any of it anyway...

Date: 2007-04-08 03:25 pm (UTC)As to what college I attended: Oberlin College. Harvard is kinda the Oberlin of the east coast, only without the good music program. ;>
