[Pesach] Food thoughts
Mar. 30th, 2007 01:35 pm- turkey with matza stuffing or root vegetables (I'd have to get sage for this)
- turkey thighs with onions, cranberries, and dried peaches (perhaps also some almonds/walnuts)
- green salad with feta and olives (plus whatever other goodies are around, like citrus and hearts of palm)
- crustless vegetable 'quiche' (with or without cheese)
- cranberry sauce
- boozy fruit (fresh or dried or both) (and make some for next year, dried fruit only)
- roasted asparagus (and all the other zillions of permutations of roasted veggies, both root and non)
- potato-leek soup
- three-onion matza meal pancakes/matza brei (onions, leeks, scallions)
- salmon fillets baked with salsa
- white fish fillets steamed over sauteed greens, with lemon
- ratatouille (possibly without summer squashes)
- potatoes with toppings bar: cheese, broccoli, roasted garlic, caramelized onions, other sauteed veggies, and so on
- spiced nuts (possible spices: cayenne, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, lavender, rosemary, also salt)
- chicken with carrots, orange, and ginger
- ground turkey sauteed with spinach, lemon, and garlic, plus lots of black pepper
- chicken with lemons, olives, and artichokes (de-choked)
- baked Camembert with garlic and rosemary or with jam and nuts
- shredded chicken, carrots, cucumber, and pepper with lime and spicy dressing in lettuce leaf wraps
