Tired...

I called the van service yesterday, and they said that for my 6:55 A.M. flight, they'd pick me up at... 4:25. A.M. Ugh. I arranged for a 4 o'clock wake-up call, and in my usual way, didn't sleep well because I was too focused on not oversleeping anyway. The last time I woke up before the call, it was 3 o'clock. I drifted back into a doze, but the subconscious was all over this one, since the dream that was shattered when the phone rang was about party-hopping at a con, knowing I'd have to check out of the con hotel at 4 A.M.

The actual travel went smoothly. Lots of dead time in there (I so totally could've gotten at least another half hour of sleep), and the usual draining effect of airtravel when not actually doing anything, but it was fine. I schlepped into the office, and people told me to go home.

It's nice to be home. The ice still has my car in thrall, but I think it's weakening. Perhaps by Sunday my car will make a sufficiently good roll against the ice and be free!

I should be napping, but there wasn't enough time for a really solid nap without being concerned with oversleeping. I might duck out of Shabbat dinner on the early side, though.

My work's car service does almost as badly - they insist on 2 hours before flight time. No matter what. I have forced them to do something different once (when Alek was visiting and we were both flying out, I scheduled the car for 2 hours before her flight instead of mine). I've been tempted to push it later when I'm flying out early, but let's be realistic - Boston traffic, it can take an hour to get from Burlington to Logan, and I -do- think I should get to the airport an hour or so before my flight. :-)

I'm not actually going to Ohio next week, the trip was postponed to the following week. :-)

There were two other hotel stops (after mine, of course), and two other terminal stops (before mine, of course). It was before rush hour. Say, about 20 seconds to check in using one of the self-check-in computers, 20 minutes to stand in line to be scanned, and more than 90 minutes to wait until actual boarding.

Can you try telling them when you want to leave, rather than your flight time?

*nod* about the traffic on the route.

Congrats? on the postponed trip. If I can get my car out tomorrow as planned, the only weeknight I have plans is Monday...

I probably could just override it and tell them when to get me, but it's dangerous. :-) The schedule you had is about what I'm used to from my last few stops. Except one of the airlines didn't have self-check-in. Crazy talk, I tell you...

I don't have any plans for the week, since I was planning on being away! *grin* I don't know if you have my contact info but I just pinged Alek to send it to you. Or you can get it from the Slinkertons. Or possibly from your sister-in-law tigerbright, though I'm not positive she has current info. ;-)

No self check-in? What are they, last-century airlines?

My LJ email works (haven't heard from the Danger_chick yet).

There's airport van service in Boston? I haven't been able to find any in a long time. Where is it?
