Bubble wrap

I wonder if there's any modern music that uses bubble wrap. There can be a pretty impressive range of sounds, depending on the popping method and the size of the bubble.

Ooh, or modern dance/acrobatics on it.

Stress-relievers at work: rooms to pop bubbles in, by hand, or walking on it, or bouncing against a bubble-wrap-lined wall.

Or any of these methods. And apparently I've just missed bubble wrap appreciation day (January 29).

Anyone know whether it's at all useful for packing material after the bubbles have been popped?

It is not going to have the same effectiveness without the air, but I would have to assume it would still act like when you wrap something in paper.

I was thinking that since the plastic is a bit thicker than paper, it might still be a bit more protection than paper alone, even without the air. But I don't actually know.

Sure - I've shipped stuff using plastic bags as filler (first off, it's reusing them, second off, it makes someone else worry about getting them properly disposed of. It's a win-win. *grin*), no reason you can't do the same with the de-bubbled wrap!
