More than just getting up out of my chair, that is :-).

Sometimes I get myself to the gym, and some of those times I use the weight machines (pretty much no free weights, because I'm nervous about doing that without a spotter, and I tend to go alone).

Today's weights
  • Leg press, 180 lb, 20x
  • Leg extension, doing each leg separately, 35 lb, 2 sets of 10x
  • Hip abduction (out), 170 lb, 2 sets of 10x, then I tried 185 lb, 10x, and for giggles, maxed out the machine at 200 lb, 10x
  • Hip adduction (in), 110 lb, 2 sets of 10x
  • Glute, doing each leg separately, 70 lb, 2 sets of 10x
  • Compound row, 65 lb, 10x, then 80 lb, 10x
  • Overhead press, 65 lb, 10x
  • Vertical press, 65 lb, 10x
  • Preacher curl, 50 lb, 10x
  • Abdominal crunch, 30 lb, 10x, then 40 lb, 10x
  • Tricep curl, doing each arm separately, 10 lb hand weight, 10x
  • Dip, 140 lb supported, 10x

Plus some cardio stuff, blah blah blah.

I don't know anything about weights, but it all sounds pretty impressive! ;)

Thanks! It's less impressive than doing the same thing in free weights, because the machine means things are more stabilized, isolating particular muscles. Which is good, to work them, but also less good, in that the surrounding muscles don't work as much to help.

It would be more impressive if I managed to get to the gym with any regularity...
