Hi from the left coast. Travel yesterday went smoothly (the only annoying part being that the first leg landed early, more than 45 minutes early, when I had a long enough layover as it was. (Any other leg arriving early would've been more useful.)), and it's almost Shabbat.

First impressions: Portland is rainy and hilly and fir-y, and the yogurt isn't kosher (except at Trader Joe's).

More sometime later.

The rain stopped yestereven, and there's been lots of walking since then, including up into one of the hills, the trees bare on top but green below, covered in vines or moss. And the ferns are still lively, too. Cold, but green. I can see how you could miss it.
