Veg report, week 17
Sep. 27th, 2006 05:41 pmWeighty stuff this week.
And there was a gauging of interest for a winter share! W00t! If at least 50 people sign up, it would be an every other week delivery for the next couple of months. Mostly roots and late greens, of course, but it would be so cool!
Boston Organics, small box, part fruit.
And a dozen eggs. Someone's thinking ahead: the newsheet mentions adjusting deliveries for Thanksgiving week, and letting people order extra appropriate vegetables. And they plan to offer organic cranberries! *bouncing dance of cranberry joy*
- two winter squashes (I got butternut and buttercup.)
- a head of green cabbage
- two sweet potatoes
- a bunch of Hakurei turnips or red radishes, with greens (I chose the former.)
- six sweet peppers (bells and longer ones, a mix of flame colors; I got a lot of long red ones, and at least one orange one.)
- four hot peppers (there were long thin green ones, bumpy ones that looked like Habanero mutants, jalapenos, and little red or purple ones (Thai bird peppers, maybe?). I didn't get a Habanero.)
- a bunch of kale (I ended up with purple again.)
- ten (very large) carrots
- a small stalk of broccoli
- a head of garlic
- fruit share: four pears
