just got off the phone with a pregnant friend... she's likely to be a mom in the next week, if the medical people have their way. apparently her baby will be rather large.... (ouch).

and a coworker had a baby on the 25th. and a potluck person had a baby on the 28th. and an old friend had a baby on the 14th. and there are still many pregnant friends to go...

Don't forget all the marriages

I feel like in the past two years, almost everyone I know has either gotten engaged, married, divorced, pregant, become a parent, or some combination of the above. I'm finding it a bit eerie.

i had about one zillion weddings to go to in my 20s, but it's definitely tapered off since then, about 1 or 2/year. of those, there have been about 2 divorces, and extreme pluralities of kids (some friends from college already have 4, 5, 6 kids in their families! others have kept to the more usual 1, 2, or 3, but most seem to have at least a kid or 2 around the place...)

At someone else's game night a month or three ago, someone made a similar sort of observation about everyone getting married, and received the response: "Welcome to your late 20s." It really does seem a universal phenomenon.
