Read in any order...

Cows! This morning there was a cow in front of my building. Not just any cow, but a Boston dictionary cow, painted with terms and definitions of particular local interest (lobster, Isabella Stewart Gardner, etc.), along with the logo of $Publisher's dictionary, of course. Yup, a fundraiser, with the cows to be auctioned off at the end of the summer. I shall have to see how many cows I can spot... (apparently there are lots at Copley. You'd think the Common would be an appropriate place.
PS More about Boston's cows!
PPS I've seen more cows, and they're very punny ("Goodnight Moo" is blue with silver stars); I'm going to enjoy this. /edit

Yesterday was the day to see people in passing. As we pulled out of Central on my way home, I saw Tigerbright reading, waiting for a train in the other direction. Walking to the Boylston station, I saw an actor I recognized from Writers With Drinks and a play put on by Queer Soup (Home, Karen 'Mal' Malme, though for some reason I thought "Tony Amato" first. In the morning I'd recognized a man getting on the T at Harvard as one I used to see running along the Charles (when I had a driving commute), noticeable for the red cloth he tied around his head and the upright way he ran, as well as his Native American elder sort of face. He was in a business suit now, and I kept wondering what sort of work he does; he seemed so free when running that I couldn't quite imagine him in an office.

I tried a different walk from Charles St. station this morning, which is a bit shorter but much noisier, along the river. A more open sidewalk, though, with fewer obstacles, so I tried to get my pace up; I've been slacking a bit on speed these days.

Getting in to work on the early side is not only necessary for the summer work hours (put 70 hours into 9 days, get every other Friday off), but a much more pleasant time for walking, too. I'd like to get caught up on sleep tonight and get up early enough to walk in tomorrow.

Oh, and happy beastly day, 6/6/(0)6.

There's a cow at South Station that I only caught a glance of in the morning rush; it looked like a Trojan Cow, perhaps with hordes of tiny vegetarians inside. Appropriate indeed, for the Day of the Beast.

Hmm. Shouldn't it be "horrible beastly day", or perhaps "terrible"? "Happy" just doesn't seem quite right ;)
