Zipper malfunction
Feb. 3rd, 2006 10:21 am- The Saturday night of Arisia, I tried to put on a fairly new dress with a zipper up the side, from the waist to under the arm. Except the zipper wouldn't go past the empire-waist seam. I'd worn it a couple of times without difficulty, but nothing worked. And then it wouldn't go down, either. So I couldn't wear it, nor could I escape it. Thanks to the diligent help of Library_sexy and Coorr, I was finally able to get out of it without involving scissors. I still haven't brought it to a tailor nor contacted the company to complain.
- Last night I unzipped both zippers of the winter coat I got just last year (the outer is the coat, the inner is the strip of fleece that impersonates a full lining), and the inner zipper pieces fell off the track. Oops. Still wearable, but a nuisance.
- I know I zipped up the outer coat for the walk home last night. So the missing piece of the outer zipper should be somewhere around the apartment, but I can't find it. Lucky today is a raincoat sort of day, now that I'm in need of a new winter coat...
It's come in threes, so I'm done now, right?
Today's overcastness meant that the usual layer cake of Boston I see from the train as I cross the river (water, then a layer of trees along the riverside, topped by brick townhouses, which in turn have stone, metal, and glass office buildings towering above them) was all frosted with a layer of fluffy clouds.
