In the news
Feb. 27th, 2004 09:57 amNew Paltz, NY is having marriages to gay couples today, as offered by the mayor (aged 26, elected last year as a Green). (Short article from today's NY Times.)
Most of NYC's pedestrian crosswalk buttons don't work. I hadn't thought about it before, but with increasing traffic in NYC and the rise of computer sensors at intersections, it makes sense. There are still a couple hundred of working ones left, at less trafficked intersections. (Another short article from today's NY Times.) I shall revel in the button on Cambridge St. by the high school, which has immediate effects, even more.
Not in the news: I still didn't open it, but it is amusing to get spam from "Deafness E. Flimflam".
