I wish I knew why so much of the time the 'satiated' switch in my stomach doesn't talk to the 'satiated' switch in my brain.

Wait 20 minutes. It takes about that long for food you have eaten to register to your brain and the hunger to go away. It takes practice to remember but it works.

Funny thing I find is that I notice I am getting hungry first by my thinking about food, just sort of creeping into my thoughts sort of insideously. Suddenly I am thinking "hmm, I wonder where the pizza delivery menu is". Needless to say food is evil.:>

That's what my dad says, too. It's not that. There are times that my stomach is full, but my brain, already registering that, doesn't agree with 'full'. It's hard to describe, but there are times that what I've eaten satisfies both brain and stomach, and other times it's just the stomach. I don't know if there's something about the balance of protein/carbs/fats, or some other nutrients needed, or for some reason the act of eating has become more needed than the calories ingested, or what.

ps

I think about food lots of the time; I used to spend dull moments in yeshiva doodling menus...
