If it's a conspiracy theory, I don't think the RNP is thinking particularly clearly (perhaps it's true, then!), since Nader has burned a lot of bridges with people after the last race. That particular confluence of events is unlikely to happen a second time, especially in the next election, when the media will be watching intently for anything like that. Also, he's running as an independent, not on the Green Party ticket, so he'll have access to fewer resources.
